On Thursday, 10th October, Wingetts Auction Rooms in Wrexham held a live auction in support of the Wrexham Miners Project, raising a total of £23,629.
The event featured a range of memorabilia, with particular focus on football-related items, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Gresford mining disaster.
A signed Wrexham football sold for £170, while the Men’s 90th Anniversary Football shirts generated an impressive £17,230. A shirt worn by Max Cleworth fetched £650, and the Ladies’ 90th Anniversary Football shirts brought in £3,080.
The most sought-after item of the evening was a James McClean shirt, which raised £1,500.
The Wrexham Miners Project extended its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the auction, recognizing the hard work and dedication of those involved in making the event possible.
This fundraiser marks a significant contribution towards preserving the memory of Wrexham’s mining heritage.
